Emmy was Kristin's first show horse carrying her from a new English rider in equitation and pleasure shows to Pony Club to Hunter/Jumpers up to the B level, then onto USCTA Eventing and finished her career competing and winning at USDF 2nd Level, schooling 3rd Level Dressage.

After Emmy retired from higher-level competition in 1999, she began her career as a lesson horse. She took some students to their first events and dressage shows.

Emmy was a great schoolmaster for riders when she was retired from competitive eventing. Even though she is now retired from giving advanced lessons, she has given many new riders a good solid start with horses including how to properly lead a horse, how to groom and tack up, how properly mount onto a horse, etc., as well as the foundation of riding: how to get a horse to walk, turn, and halt. She is quite the confidence builder! Riders are welcome to spend their lesson on a supervised trail ride with Emmy.

Emmy is semi-retired now to beginner, walk-only, lessons for children and small adults. We feel she deserves "a nice retirement" and should not have to do any real work anymore.

The majority of my students ride horses they own or lease. If you want to do more than walk, or are an average-to large adult, you will need to provide your own horse.
